Hindu gods in DC Comics : From Rama to Indra

People who identify DC Universe only with the movie versions (Batman vs Superman, Man of Steel, Wonder Woman) may find it pretty intriguing. We all get super excited to see an Indian reference in comics and movies, imagine how exciting it gets when you see Hindu gods in the comics !!

Yes, DC comics introduced a whole roster of hindu gods in Wonder Woman #148 published in 1987, from Rama, Hanuman, Lord Shiva to Parvati and Goddess Kali. 

In this issue, when Cronus, a Titan of Myth ransacked olympus killing all gods and leaving Wonder woman, powerless, broken and alone. Lord Rama saves Wonder Woman and ask for her help in saving hindu gods from Cronus.

In comics, Rama is the seventh avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu. Born a prince on Earth in ancient times. Although the power of Vishnu flows through Rama, something which his blue skin tone suggests.

Cronus, after killing gods of olympus intends to kills gods of Mound Mandara (abode of hindu gods). And Rama and Diana unite to defeat Cronus and his children. All the gods participate in this epic war, Rama, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Ganesha, and Kartikeya.
